Post-Treatment Instructions for Crowns and Bridges

  • Avoid Chewing on the Treated Area: Refrain from chewing on the side of your mouth with the new crown or bridge until your numbness wears off to avoid accidental biting.
  • Sensitive Teeth: It’s normal to experience some sensitivity to hot or cold for a few days. This should subside over time.
  • Oral Hygiene: Continue brushing and flossing your teeth as usual, but be gentle around the crown or bridge area. Use a soft toothbrush to avoid damaging the restoration.
  • Dietary Considerations: Avoid sticky, hard, or chewy foods (like gum or ice) for the first 24 hours. Opt for softer foods to protect your new crown or bridge.
  • Pain Management: If you experience any discomfort, over-the-counter pain relievers can help. Follow the dosage instructions on the label.
  • Follow-Up Appointments: Attend any scheduled follow-up appointments to ensure proper fit and function of the crown or bridge.

If you experience any severe pain, discomfort, or notice any unusual issues with your crown or bridge, please contact our office right away.
